You guys are great - there's a lot more great options here than I was aware of. Also the DIY approach I hadn't considered since I haven't full gotten into tinkering with finishes, but it looks relatively simple. That said, another TB member reached out selling a very similar Sandberg bass to what I was looking for and we've got a deal going there. So I'll start there, but these are fabulous resources for future folks. Thank you!

Hey all, I've recently become obsessed with the textured sandblasted look - specifically of Sandberg basses like this:

I really want a bass like that but with a roasted maple P neck. Any of the Sandberg's that I can find that aren't like a year out for delivery have a narrower nut width. I really love this black natural matte / satin look with the grain texture exposed a bit but still smooth. Anyone know any custom body finish people that could do that? I've looked high and low and even asked around at the bigger parts finish people but they don't do this. Please help Thank you!

Sire V6 and some Ampmaster Woodcraft have it.

These are more of a budget/low-mid range models Aria Pro Hot Rod Collection comes in an open pore finish and roasted maple necks. 24 frets, four and five strings and JJ or JP pickup combinations.

Forgive me for going a little off topic, but I am soooooo glad I got my Harley Benton JP-55OP (the true low budget copy of the Aria Detroit JP) before the cease and desist was put in place! And I love the open pore finish!

Arrived today, and I've just finished checking it out. This was a b-stock, which I have had good experiences with Thomann on with my previous 4 HB b-stocks.

I did not NEED another bass. So why did I buy this? First off, I have become an HB fan, and have been impressed with all of my other 7 HBs, especially my 2 Enhanced basses (MJ & MP). Secondly, I wanted to try out a roasted neck AND passive VBT control layout.

I WILL say that I'm not happy about the $80 shipping charge, BUT it arrived in 3 days and was double boxed and wrapped in 2 padded sleeves that honestly is the BEST protection I...
