Anyone know much about shipping costs?

Dang, ive shipped a number of basses in solid cases across country and never went over like $55. I know USPS has recently upped their prices A LOT if you go above a certain weight or dimension. They have actually been undercharging for a lot of mail for a long time and it kinda caught up with them. I dont think the flat rate boxs helped much. Ive literally shipped a box full of small machined parts in one of the larger flat rate boxs and it weighed like 60lbs. The guy looked at me like i was stupid for bringing it in but they had to take it. lol

Odds are youll be seeing steady price increases for a while and it doesnt surprise me that some offices wont even take certain shipments.

I've had a lot of hockey goalie gear shipped to me in Japan over the last ten years, and if there's one thing I've learned, it's to never ship via UPS, FedEx, DHL, etc. Their postage prices are high enough, but they add brokerage fees on top of that, so you end up paying at customs much more often.

USPS and Canada Post are just fine with me.
