Anyone knows about sakura wood in basses?

Okay guys, so recently i´ve been having this doubt and I hope you can help me. It´s there any possibilty of making a bass out of sakura tree (cherry blossom) wood?

You know, the japanese one, because I read something about that and i´m really curious, but i couldn´t find any useful information about this.

Thanks a lot ^.^

From what I read (note I don't remember where exactly), cherry was actually the preferred wood for instrument building prior to alder, but alder was cheaper/more plentiful? May or may not be true, but there are certainly basses that are made with cherry.
