anyone knows how to open a EDEN WTDI?

i accidentally short circuit the thing and was hoping to open it up and try to get it to work again by replacing the fuse.

anyone knows how to open it up? i tried removing the 4 casing screws and it's very hard to open the top case, am I missing anything here?

Online info claims you need to remove the knobs, then remove the pot-retaining nuts that were hiding under those knobs.

You sure there's a fuse in there? You may be in for a disappointment in this regard.

As mentioned, this is not a circuit that would typically have an internal fuse.

OP may I humbly suggest that if you cannot even open the box that you leave the repair to someone who knows better how to open the unit and repair the problem.

It’s so easy for someone without proper knowledge to turn a nice piece of electronics into something fit only for the recycling bin.

Looks like it's all SMD, so very little chance of replacing any fuse that might be there, unless you are a soldering wizard. Leave it to a competent tech.

Don’t forget the back.

There are connectors that can be reseated and solder joints that can be examined.


But if a short caused damage, some parts may need to be replaced. Look for signs of burnt components and damage to the board. A well designed circuit would have included some protection.

Unless you know what you're doing electronically, do yourself a favor: Don't make more problems, take it to someone truly qualified, pay them what they're worth, go home happy.
