Anyone making a 'presentable' bass stand for home use?

I do the same thing, actually x2. I just can’t stomach paying money for stands.

Same here. There's another armchair right across from it. (That one's an Ethan Allen.) And it's usually for the other Ripper.

I happen to like the armchair in my avatar. It's held many an instrument within easy reach for me over the years. It's made by Hitchcock too, so it need make no apologies for its pedigree to admirers of fine furnishings...

That's the problem, not the solution. Trying to get the bass off the furniture. We're more mid-century design though. ;)

Well, the tasteful and affordable option was eliminated in the opening post - wallhanger. It also eats up less space in the room, but if you won't, you won't.

Yep. Not getting hung. The walls are for paintings... ;) . I actually have a music room that features a stand for 6, plenty of room for my amps, etc. But it's downstairs and I keep a bass upstairs for morning practice rather than going up and down with it every day. Plenty of room for a decent stand.

...and I can't blame it on my wife either. We're on the same page with everything. So a good stand...

Lots of stands out there in the world and for stage use I have a Hercules locking stand...

...but my wife has only now realized that having a bass in our 'presentable living space' (living room, dining room or bedroom) is sort of a fact of life...and she's tired of moving whatever bass I'm using for my daily workout. And she's allowed that if 'we' have to live with one around, is there a nice presentable stand available?

Any thoughts on a stand (not a wall hanger, etc) that's decent and fits in less with stage and more with 'furniture'? I have plenty of metal folding etc. looking for something that fits in a 'grown up' space.
