Anyone own a squier bullet bass?

Those were before the Squire name became associated with crap quality (although I understand that they have gotten better in recent years) and the Japan build was very good. I've had a black one for many years and it's good enough for me to gig with it.

I've played them over the years and finally bought one from a member here on TB. Mine is SQ serial number and it's a DAMN nice player and the build quality is fantastic. The neck is to die for. I think people underestimate the tone that those little rounded split P pups can produce. It's slightly different than a good, standard split P pickup but just as powerful with a great tonal range as well. Right now my JV era P bass and my Bullet are getting the most love of any in my arsenal :)

We should start a Bullet Bass Club!!

Hey, I just bought a early '80's CIJ Bullet bass off my local Craigslist and I really like it. I got it cheap due to some butchery that a former owner performed on it, but I took care of all of that. I am loving the Tele headstock, the neck and the overall build quality. Here's some photos ...

Ended up making my own pickguard - not as difficult as I thought! (After pricing them I told myself, I HAD to try.) Put on new strings and installed a new output jack. All that's left is a truss rod tweak and setting the intonation. Very retro vibe, this one ....

I have 3 now, guess I shouldn't have left the first 2 alone.

Hey guys, you know what they say around here, "No pix, no bass". I'd love to see the family, maybe the missus is expecting again?

On another note, does anyone know what the SD Mustang pickups are like? Are they really any kind of improvement over the originals? After all, they are twice the cost.
