Anyone Play a Schecter Model-T Bass?

Anyone that plays a Schecter Model T out there ever remove the pick guard? Is there anything under it?
Just wondering, these look like really nice basses for the price. Thanks.

Meaning - does it have the same finish as the rest of the top under the pick guard?

I know the Mark Kay White colored ones that were Korean manufactured back in 2005 had that color throughout. I played one of those and bought a CSV that I still own. Criminally underrated basses in quality. The neck maple is really soft but the truss rod is excellent. I have had that CSV in my closet for over a year and the set-up has never had to be adjusted. I love that bass. And for $450 brand new it's a steal since it's one of my favorite that I own to this day. I pulled all the frets out and finished the neck to achieve Robert Deleo's "Purple" album fretless tone - which it totally does.
The new Model T's may have changed a bit since the originals though when it comes to manufacture quality and wood sources. I know they come with Seymour Duncan basslines which do not have the subtleties that the original duncan designed pups had.

I got one. It does the P/J thing just fine for me. I've had my guard off, and its the same color as the body, with no routes. I would like to get an aged white pearloid guard for mine.

My 2002 DeLeo sig has the same finish under the pickguard. And EMGs!

The actual DeLeo "sig" basses are designated as such on the back of the headstock. All the ones I've seen have had EMG's, though there may have been some with factory Basslines. I think DeLeo has the EMG's in his. I doubt he plays the "Duncan designed" pickups. I've had a Model T with those pickups, they're cheap substitutes for real Duncan pickups, and that's how they sounded to my ears.

Yeah, it's really hard to argue otherwise. Nice Korean build, setup in Schecter's USA shop. Good quality instrument for very reasonable money. No mods or upgrades needed.

They do tend to run kinda heavy, though. This is my second DeLeo. I got lucky, it checks in at 9lbs, 1oz. My first one weighed 10+ pounds.
