Anyone play high school, college, semi-pro, or pro football?

I was a Buckeye for a short time - played on the practice team and was too slow to be a receiver and too small to be a tight end or lineman and didn't have the work ethic to doing anything about it back then.

Now I play semi-pro and am an OLB for the Tristate Sharks.

Played HS ball, but in Texas playing football is a religion almost.

What do you mean, almost? :p

Unfortunately I went to a highschool where politics ruled who actually played, and since I wasn't a pure NFL prospect nor did my parents work for the school, I never got any playing time. Nevermind the fact in the junior high I led the district in touchdown catches :spit:

A kid I went to highschool with was actually drafted by the Baltimore Ravens this past year...but he was cut before the season even started. Or rather, he went undrafted, but was signed shortly afterwards.

Yeah, that's been well-documented. But there are a LOT of really good high school teams in southwest OH as well. I'd like to see a match-up of some of the better TX teams against some of the OH teams.

Year-in and year-out Elder, Colerain, and St. X are ranked in the top 25 nationally - with 4 or 5 other teams from OH in there somewhere.

He does, but they have not been calling. :scowl:. Purdue and Tennessee are his front runners right now. He also likes University of Miami, not the U, but the good one here in Oxford. :D

Your son could do a lot worse than Purdue and Tennessee. I loved my stay at Purdue; excellent school, competitive program and great facilities. Tiller has laid a very solid foundation. I hope your son decides to Boiler Up, but am sure he will have a great experience wherever he chooses to play.

Thanks! He's a good kid and he knows the academic part is what's important. If I could afford it, I would prefer he not play at all. Only because I know what it will do to his body.
