anyone played a Starbucks gig?

We have have two blues/rock nights this weekend at Starbucks.

Yeah corporate sellouts and all that... I think its weird to play full on electric blues and classic rock at a coffee place no?

well I'll post pics/news next week.

You get to do this in Kuwait??!!! Sweet! It would never happen here at any local Starbucks outlet here in my home town in the U.S.A. Keep us posted on how your gig goes for you. Good luck and best wishes.

They aren't exactly official gigs, but my old coworker and I jam at our drive-thru Starbucks Tuesday nights. We just get together on our own time and play. Its been fun, though some of the book clubs that meet that night get a little annoyed with us. :smug:

We used to play a local coffee place (Aroma's)...perhaps a larger venue than the typical Starbucks'.
It was a 'decent' gig in that the hours were 7pm-10pm...plus it was an opportunity for kids to see a live band & for people my age & older who had not seen a live band in years.

Anyway, be aware that the coffee pourers will need to hear the customers' orders, etc.
Hope you guys can keep the intensity at a low volume.
;)

One of the Starbucks at a large mall near my house (it's an outside mall, but currently has four Starbucks) has people play in it usually on weekends. Pretty much acoustic sets, and its ridiculous because there's not much space to begin with and gets pretty crowded.

I've also seen the place next to it starting to hold gigs. I think its like some organic/healthy food place or something.

It sounds like it'd be cool, although I've stopped drinking Starbucks for the much better Badass Coffee. Maybe I should convince them to start holding gigs...and maybe I should put together and acoustic band as well...

Not a Starbucks but we've played at this place Link Removed a local Sandwich joint a few times. We probably have another gig there coming up. I personally enjoy it. The pay was about $50 and we got free food and beer so that makes me happy. It was a tight spot but we still were able to play at an enjoyable level of volume for everyone.
