I just got a Spectrum and a couple of the Red presets are already as synthy as I'd ever pragmatically want. But I'm just happier than a pig in $#!+ with the regular Thrust preset - tweaked a couple knobs and boom, the right amount of octaver and filter for almost anything I'd want either on.

Anyone spent time with a Source Audio Spectrum?

I loooooooooove my spectrum. You get more synthy stuff with the c4 but the spectrum has some decent synth stuff too-just not 4 voices with tremolo. It has an amazing octave sound built in which generates a lot of that synth stuff. Unless you are specifically looking for synth sound youre not really losing much anything with the spectrum. The guy who posted above totally has it right too. Probably everyone else too
For filter sounds I don't think you can do better than the spectrum (granted it is digital). Unless you want to buy a mutron and a bassballs and a qtron and a lovepedal and a seamoon and a gated fuzz and an oc2 and a pog and a pigtronix envelope phaser
Etc etc. Theres phaser presets and even chorus/vibrato presets.
If youre interested in filter sounds get it. Youll love it.

I have a C4 and I never use it because it’s just not immediate enough to tweak on the fly. I picked up a Minitron IV, which sounds good and is easy to tweak. Any thoughts on Minitron vs Spectrum? For both sound and usability.
Quick question, is there an easy way to access the six on board sounds without going to Midi, or bending over and changing them?

I love my spectrum. Such good phaser and envelope sounds. I'm not a huge synth person, so it's just synthy enough to satisfy me.
Same here - I just got it and I am thrilled with it. I really just wanted a straight filter - but thought I would give this a try (don't really want a ton of synth stuff).
Curious about this as well. Will the extra tap/tempo switch cycle through the 6. presets? It seems it will cycle through different Eq settings on the EQ2 pedal - but not sure about the spectrum.

Seeing this again... I'd also like to figure out how to program a straight phase 45 sound. Lately I've been using my 45 a lot, but don't have the real estate for it. I need to go back to the spectrum settings to see if I can really replicate that sound more precisely.
