Anyone use a bidet?

I heard about a clump of those the size of a double decker bus was found clogging pipes in the UK. Could've been fake news though.

As KBD mentioned, there are hillbilly/DIY versions:

Don't you have to lift your posterior off of the seat to use it? If so, how do you keep the excess water from running down your legs and into your shorts?

I guess you wipe first then use it? Also is the water cold?
As for wiping first, nope. That's the point of a bidet.
I pretty much live in Bidet Country (unpleasant connotations intended; as for denotation, there's at least one bidet in every home, required by law: yes, seriously) and nope, not the point of them in our customs and habits. Paper first, water second (soap optional, I use it). Your mileage, and specific implementation, may certainly vary.

EDIT, forgot to add: there's usually a cold and warm mixing tap.

I have not used a stand alone bidet. What I have used, and loved, is a toilet seat made by a Japanese company named Toto
(You can find them online). They are installed on all the toilets at the Miyako Hotel in Little Tokyo, Los Angeles.

They are not cheap, but the are worth every penny. The higher end models have a control panel (sort of like Captain Kirk's chair) that allows
you to control water temperature, male & female use option (it squirts where each gender needs it to. How smart is that?), water pressure,
etc, etc. I plan on installing them in every bathroom in the house when we do a remodel.

The biggest issue is that you have to have an outlet installed near the toilet to have it work.

Like I said, it's a great product. I highly recommend it.

Get the separate bowl one. Cats love them.

If you've got some coin to spend, this one washes, dries and keeps your tushie warm all at once.

I have experience with one a lot like this one. It's great. First off the seat is heated and it has two different jet streams (one for males and one for females). Along with that it heats up the water first and the air dryer is warm to the feel. It works great.

Never used nor been near one. I can imagine that after I tried it the first time I'd probably end up having to mop the bathroom floor, walls, ceiling. It just looks like there are several ways to be inadvertently messy in the name of cleanliness. And that drying-off bit has me worried, too.

I miss having the bidet hose like nearly every bathroom in Thailand has:

If your pressure is high enough, you can break stuff loose that you never knew was up there.
Thailand ...with the hand-held...a decade ago...is where I was introduced to the bidet.
We are just back from Japan...heated seat and all...and are firmly committed to upgrading the whole way in our bathroom.
I'm not gonna let a second chance go by...
