Anyone using a 1x15 + 2x10?

Just interested, haven’t see any setups around like that, and I was interested in getting an Eden D210XST + D115XL to replace my Ampeg SVT410HLF (I still love it to pieces awesome cab but it weighs a tonne and I have traced all my distorting problems back to it so its time to find a new love  ) So yea anyone use this setup or something similar?

Cheers guys

Lol no i didnt know that, I though he used a 55-94 and an Ampeg 8x10...anyway back on track i thought that most people that use the 2x10's generaly pair them up with a 4x10, i dont know y i dont just do the same but i seem to have had a run of bad luck with 4x10's...but its still on my list to try out...

I used an Eden 210t and 1x15 for years and loved the tone. I recently moved onto an SVT810E but if the Edens had been the xlt versions, I most likely would have kept them!

Up until my most recent purchase of some Avatar cabs, I had used Hartke's 210XL and 115XL in combination. The 210 worked well to capture highs and the 115 took care of the bottom end. It took a while to get the sound dialed in to where I wanted it, but was well worth the effort.

I had also tried using the 210 as a stand-alone on one small engagement, but it lacked low end, that's how I wound up with the 112. Have since jettisoned the 210...

Yep I love that combo of 1x15 2x10 and horn. I tried an SVT 8x10 last weekend with a pro3 head and there was plenty of lows but the highs lacked any definition IMHO. It was an outdoor gig with huge PA support so I would have prefererred my rig but it was easier to use their backline. Also let's talk weight, my cabs used to be both under 30 lbs but since adding the Schroeders the 2x10 gained like 10 lbs, a lot less than the refrigerator that is the SVT.
In any case here's mine:

I use something similar.

This rig sounds really great. The 210 is 4 ohm (350w) and the 115 is 8 ohm (200w). This naturally balances the sound out since the 115 has the stronger mid voicing.

:D

IMO the 810 definatly isnt about the high end!

Ive used a 2x10 combo ontop of a 1x15 cab at a few gigs, both were laneys, got the job done, was neither up nor down about it tho, nothing to write home about.

out of curiosity, how did you obtain the Schroeder speakers?

I'm not sure about Lakland model names, all I know is he uses a Lakland with the Eden Head and 2x10+1x15 most recently.

I don't know why I didn't comment this before, but this is what I'm currently using. I've got my Fender 2x10 Combo on top of a 1x15 extention cab. I dig it. I don't LOVE it, but that probably has more to do with the head inside the combo, and the quality of the speakers. But it does what it needs to do well.

And I forgot to mention 500 watts each cab at 4 ohms and crossed over so the 15" runs 140hz or so and below. ;)

Hey Lowtonejoe do you always run your 15 on top? Just curious.
Dirk

Yep.

The D210XLT sounds deeper than the S15-CUS and the S15-CUS has a stronger midrange than the D210XLT.

So it goes on the bottom.

But I have also used the cabs singly depending on the size of the gig and the flavor I was looking for for the night.

:D
