Anyone using an Akai Headrush?

Thing rocks, do it. I love mine and it's a breeze to use. Yeah, it doesn't have all the fancy features of the newer loopers, but for a feature packed delay it's awesome. The tape delay is great fun, and the analogue simulation knob is a great feature.

thanks nifty. i'm glad you guys are giving some positive reviews. the clips sounded great and it looks good on paper, but the TB reviews were mostly below par.

I have the E2 and love it. I use mostly the looping function seeing as I have another primary delay. But Ive found tons of uses for the various delays that can be had with this unit. I found the looping with the Boss to be annoying, both with the DD20 and the RC20. Very glitchy and not as seemless. I highly recommend this guy.

I use a headrush. it's nice, but I miss delay with mod, which it doesnt do.
I'm glad to see this point brought up. I can't believe how many delays DON'T have this feature - which, I assume, reflects how unimportant it is to musicians. There are even supposedly vintage-oid analogs without mod!

I don't get it. I want a delay; I'll own a delay - but especially if I only had ONE delay, it'd HAVE-ta-have mod!

True enough, I love modulation on delay, it gives me psychedelic good times. The old Ibanez AD202 was the best vintage analog unit for that IME, and the Deltalabs Effectron II was the best vintage digital one. (Of course "best" for my twisted tastes ;) ).

Oh-yeah.

When I travelled with the Hard Rock band, Monarch, as an Audio Tech back in '81, I ran a Roland analog chorus, Mutron (or was it Arp or... no: I think Mutron) rack Delay (WITH modulation, of course), AND an EchoPlex (with an 8-track tape for the tape loop). When all four band members sang the refrain in Highway To Hell, it sounded just like a rabid throng of Nazis crying "heil Hitler!". (Remember that the EchoPlex had modulation too, with my finger against the recording tape!)

Oh yeah; Modulation delay.
