I find SR2000's to have a major plus and a major weakness to them. The Plus is they sound awesome in the mids. This is an uppermid grindy string. Lots of punch and attack and snarl in the upper mids, and that compliments my playing style very well, especially on my Fender 75' RI.
The major downfall and beef I have with these strings is there's no bottom end authority. I'm guessing it has to do with the taper ends? The strings don't seem to translate lows as good as non-tapered strings.
They compare in sound to Rotosounds, (another string with good grindy mids, DR-Low Riders as well)... but both Rotosounds and Low Riders, IMO and IME translate low end punch more so. I love the SR2000 grind so much, but really wish they has a better bottom...
