Who Else Has Been Seduced By Nylon Strings?

I started on classical guitar, still have it, still play it.
This is an old Asian made student model, with great woodgrain, and a nice bassy tone.
I play electric guitar and bass more overall, but I still play the classical.

the Takamine, Yamaha, and other made-in-Japan classical guitars from the 70’s and 80’s are phenomenal values by todays standards. Just replace the tuners with quality modern Gotohs or similar, new strings, and a full setup by a classical guitar tech and you have something comparable to a new $1500 classical….just my opinion of course!

Never had problems with my tuners not working

About four years ago I bought a Cordoba C12 from Sweetwater and began taking lessons. I went through several teachers who led me to work on pieces that were above my ability level and then hit upon Classical Guitar Corner Academy. Since then, I've been making progress, and I'm playing at a low-intermediate level. I'm good enough to play guitar in a trio that does Brazilian bossas and sambas. I also play flute and bass in the group. I'm planning to buy a guitalele, as I think it will work with the group and give me a bit more flexibility. One more thing to carry around, but at least it's small!

What I love about studying classical guitar is that I can discover so much beautiful repertoire that flies under the radar.
