Anyone using four 15's?

looking that this pic. It looks like there might be enough room to put 15's in the two side 12's, and I could just upgrade the top and bottom 12's to better speakers.

Back in the 70s in my touring rig I ran a rack amp and preamp into 3 2X15" JBL cabinets. Absolutely huge. I'm sure glad I didn't have to carry it. The cabinets were designed for the JBLs and that makes a big difference.

I remember Phil Lesh used 3 Kustom cabinets with 2X15s for a while. His pantlegs would flap in the breeze when he stood in front of them.

in a band I was subbing in, the stage rig was a 2000S with two cabs, each had 2-JBL's in them It handled school gymnasiums and amories and such relatively well. My last gig with them, we also used the 200S that was from our practice space. Six JBLl 15's.
The guitarist had all Sunn also. very impressive stage to a 16 year old plow boy in 1970.

Best of Luck,
Wes

Yeah, in the 70's for me it was two Fender Blackface
Showmans into two Fender JBL 2 x 15 D140F cabinets
stacked horizontally together. Maybe not the pant flapping
bass response modern cabinets deliver, but at the time
it seemed like a good idea <grin>.

Can you say "crunchy"??? Especially when turned up?

I knew you could!

Back when those Bassman 100s came out I bought the head and cabinet for my first new amp.I had a pair of JBL D 120Fs from a regular Bassman and tried to put them in the Bassman 100 cabinet but they wouldn't fit because the magnet was too large and hit the back of the cabinet,so I imagine there isn't enough room for a 15".Bills Idea of the Deltalite neos would probably work though since the magnets are smaller.I ended up trading in the Bassman 100 cabinet on a new Fender Dual Showman cabinet with JBL D 140Fs because the Bassman cabinet would fart out at higher volumes on low notes. The Showman cabinet handled the low end much better.

am I missing something? by running a 4x15 off of 135 watts each speaker will be getting slightly less than 34 watts each......is it more benificial to run more speakers off of less power or to more efficiently drive 1 or 2 speakers such as a single 15, 18 or even a 2x12????
