http://accessories.musiciansfriend.com/product/Fender-Jazz-Bass-Hardshell-Case?sku=541533 I know a couple people who think this is a bad investment for me to make for my geddy lee bass. What are your thoughts?
I don't think it's an investment at all. I think it's way too much for a case. I'd get a used one for $50.
Seems kind of expensive. I bought a $50 one from musiciansfriend 8 years ago and it's still completely functional. You buy cases to stop your bass from being beat up, seems silly to transfer the beating to something that costs $180
Get a hard case that doesn't have the name Fender on it, will probably save you a lot. Check out ebay, too.
im just needing something to take to a couple of gigs and to keep at home nothing crazy and im getting it for 90 bucks which i think is a great deal. Im not touring or anything
Take it from a geezer who has been from pointius to pillatus when it comes to cases, gigbags, and roadcases. If you can get one of those for $90, grab it now! They are well made and protect well. They are good for local gigs, car travel, home storage, bus travel, train travel, and walking. Not good for airlplanes or tour trailers/buses. Get the chocolate one!
I got one on sale from MF two months ago for $129. I haven't seen a used one on sale in the NYC area fro less than $100. I was looking on ebay for a guy I bought G&G cases for $100 new. But couldn't find a jazz case.
