Nice basses.
Are those hipshot bridges? I used them on my first bass... Never again. The cheap ebay ones are a lot easier to mount, and I'm not a big fan of through-body strings.

To each it's own- I find that the Hipshot single string thru-body bridge contributes greatly to the tone & sustain, which is awesome on both these basses. Think about it - the strings thru the body allows them to couple more with the wood of the body. It's just the laws of physics at work here. Just to learn- what kind of problem did you have with the Hipshot?
