I had some SIT foundations put on a Ric 5 string I used to have and i wasn't all that sold. but I haven't tried them on an active bass though. maybe I should give them another try

I always liked what Labella used to call Hard Rocking steel rounds. I don't know if they still make them.

Same here. Hard Rockin' Steel we're renamed Stainless Steel Series. Plenty of those still f/s online, but I see no clear equivalent now on the LaBella site. Maybe Stainless Rx? They do answer emails, should you care to ask.

Me too, and unfortunately no. I also really liked the Super Steps at one point, and they still make them, but they fall into a different category (exposed cores). I don't think the RX Stainless series is similar to the Hard Rockin' Steels, because they describe them as "More flexible & lighter tension than Standard La Bella M Series". That said, you can still find them sometimes: La Bella Hard Rockin' Steel : GuitarBassPro!, Bass Guitars Amplifiers Pro Audio and accessories

I use La Bella RX stainless steels, GHS Super Steels and both are excellent.
