Are Jazz Basses becoming less popular?

Never liked the look, the sound & "poor technology" of a J-Bass.
It was the first recommendation nearly everybody gave me as long as I can think and I was sceptical from the beginning. When you want to put your brain at rest get a J-Bass. When you still want to use it as well as your ears - get a P-Bass (or anything else, as long as the split-coil stays in the right position).

Relax OP they are just getting rid of their least favoriye ones, so they can afford to outfit the others with tort guards.
All of you will be proud of me - I just acquired a MIM Jazz bass - white on white with a maple fingerboard. Just to satisfy the TB masses - I removed the white pickguard and installed ------ TORT !!!! All is well in the world !! (By the way - I now have (3) Jazz basses, and only (1) Precision)

I don't like vegetables. That being said, I currently own 3 PJ basses. A neck thru PJ, A Modulus PJ and an Ibanez Roadstar, 1st gen PJ. All are different but have the same general size. They full fill my needs and keep the GAS at bay. If anything, I'm just burnt out on the the P or J style basses. Like seeing too many Mustangs or Camaros.

I was reading this thread while practicing with my Jazz bass and it stopped making a sound. They are emotional, please don’t play your Jazz bass while reading this. 
I like the Geddy Lee so much that I bought two.
There are more jazz basses for sale new and used, because they're more popular. Musicians Friend has two times more new jazz basses for sale than p basses. I wonder why?
What is the poor technology that you are referring too? They have the same technology as a P bass but and extra pickup and pot. If anything, I like that the controls are mounted to a metal plate with three screws and if I need to work on the electronics, it's more accessible than the P bass where you have to take of the strings and remove a pickguard with 10 screws.
