Amen to that. I got years more life out of mine when I dumped Windoze and loaded Ubuntu. The sucker's ancient but still blazing fast for an old *IBM* Thinkpad T42. I gave it up when they stopped supporting 32bit.Linux your old laptop, then go back and get it
