Are we just getting too soft?

Nutraloaf, heard of it? They make it for Solitary confinement prisoners. I've not cooked any up to try it yet but how bad can it be?

Japanese Prison camps during the last big war served up some downright gross stuff including bugs and worms and men ate it.

Would you starve to death if this was all you were given?

Didn't watch the video, but that looks much more appetizing than bugs and worms. Would I refuse that and starve? Hell no, I'd eat it! It's probably pretty tasty.

But I also don't think we should provide something so disgusting that someone would refuse it and starve.

Yes. We have gotten too soft in pretty much every way imaginable.

See post #3. And prepare yourself, Mr Originality.

I knew where this thread was going as soon as I saw the pic in the OP. A few days ago I was thinking about that very dish being served in prisons three times a day every day as a deterrent.

If people had to eat that stuff, and nothing but that stuff, for their entire visit at the pen they'd think twice before breaking the law.

When the judges sentence the guilty parties the sentence would no longer be given in units of time. Instead of serving "one year" they get served 1095 bowls of TNC.

I don't understand the versions of this meme going around. Roughly 2/3 of our military forces during WWII was drafted (according to The National WWII Museum | New Orleans). I'm not even going to try to find a percentage of people who have to guard themselves from 'triggers' since there surely isn't an accurate figure anywhere...and if it were out there, I'm very certain it would be incredibly small.

Fact is, you'll have heroes and cowards in every generation and the vast majority will fall somewhere in the middle.

(note: I'm not trying to equate being drafted to being a coward, if it should happen to read that way)
