$100k+ per year for every cop, fire fighter, and soldier sounds nice. How exactly are we going to pay that for the rest of their lives?

Gee, I had no idea that taxing the rich would have been your response. Pretty much a standard response.
If you were rich, would you want to pay more taxes? Regardless, not gonna happen AND it will always be the middle class that pays for everything as usual.
Although in a minority, there are some rich philanthropists out there, guided by a sense of moral obligation and appreciation of their lot in life.

I pay higher percentage of my income to fund public services than many who are much more wealthy than me.

I am very much in favour of higher taxes and more spending on social services and infrastructure.

I don't know if this has anything to do with your statement or not .
I believe that if a society doesn't take care of its self and of its own it will not be a strong society .
Each man for himself mentality will not make this country strong.
That said I DO NOT believe in enabling or allowing people to leech off society .
Lastly ,this was not meant to sound like socialism or communism .
Build a system where capitolism exists with real opportunities . It can appear at times we are heading towards a class society

Society spends money on the citizens it fails through prisons, law enforcement, decreased productivity, lost potential, etc.
Investing in society seems like a far more efficient use of funds and a far more satisfying existence for everyone involved.
I'm all for helping people. Helping people make $100k+ per year for life is a bit much.

Accusing middle class people of making too much income: sensible.
Accusing rich people of making too much money: socialism.
It's misleading to say for life. Just from the time they retire until they die.
Doesn't paying people $100k+ for (the rest of their) life kinda create more rich people?
Besides, you always over estimate the number or rich people. They tax the middle because we're so abundant.
