Are your cab and amp the same brand?

I as well use my GK and Ampeg 8x10 or 4x10. I do this the most I’ll say as I’m still a “rack user” and my wireless, tuner, Tech 21 RPM ( or RBI in the past ) are all in “one place”. Just became easier to use the GK instead of bringing the CL and the rack. I like the sound of both so…….
On the occasion I use both 8x10’s ( not often enough, ha ) the CL at 2 ohm’s is better / again easier than two GK’s, one for each cab.
I’ll say it’s a blast to stand in front of two 8x10’s at volume !

Oh man! I had an SVT with an Ampeg 8x10 and an Ampeg 2x15. That was crazy fun to play through!

I will say that I do not miss moving it around!

I find the 8x10 is the easiest cab to move most places. With the bar on the rear, I just lean it against the truck of choice lift and push. They have a u-tube clip on the ease of moving it I hear. The 4x10 is the hardest. The bar….. you have to bend and……. All good !’

Yes. Two rigs. Complete Markbass and a complete Bergantino rig.

No, but I am hoping to buy either
1) a Hartke 2x10 to match my Hartke head
2) get a Mesa Half Stack
Sometime in the next year.
Right now I am using a Hartke LX5500 into a Peavey Headliner. Sounds great, cab is way too heavy though.

Not for me.
The Alembic F-1X is the best sounding, most musical pre-amp I've yet heard.
Paired with the Alembic SF-2 "superfilter", it's the most elegant tone shaping system in the world.

About 20 years ago, my then local Music Go Round store had first an F-1X and then a couple weeks later an SF-2 for $199 each. I had promised SWMBO that I wasn't going to buy any more gear for a while, so I let someone else get 'em. I kind of still regret that.

Matched:
Ashdown CTM-100 w/ NOS Klystron 15 cab
JAGUAR 200 Head & matched 410 Celestion loaded cab.

Mixed:
Genz-Benz Neox 210 w/ TecAmp Puma 500
Bergantino HS-410 w/LMT800
Schroeder PL212 w/ Quilter BB800

They all sound good & make me happy.

I recently picked up a new Mesa WD-800 head and have been searching for a cab to go with it. I know the correct answer is to get whatever sounds best… But for now I’m just curious how many of you have mismatched brands for your amp and cabinet combo? I don’t know why but it bothers me a bit to think of getting a different brand cab (prob ocd lol), but then I also know I’m limiting myself by not exploring all tonal options. So I’m just sort of curious how prevalent it is for mismatches. Thanks!
I have a Markbass combo with matching speaker and a Carlsbro head with a Trace Elliott speaker. I ran the Carlsbro with an HH 2x15, later with a 1x15 of unknown make and loaded with a driver of unknown make that I bought cheap. They all worked. I think too much is said about needing to match heads and speakers.
