Are your cab and amp the same brand?

I have the bullhead 1k and it’s sweet. I’m using (2) Genzler 1x12 megellan cabinets. I would like to play TF cabinets but they seem heavier than most light weight cabs. Should I keep the Genzler or go to TF cabinets? I love the TF Bullhead.
For preamp I’d still go with the Kern 777No, because Alembic doesn't make power amps or cabs.
Alembic pre-amps > QSC power amp > fEARful cabs
Not for me.
The Alembic F-1X is the best sounding, most musical pre-amp I've yet heard.
Paired with the Alembic SF-2 "superfilter", it's the most elegant tone shaping system in the world.
My very first "bass" amp setup was a Sunn Coliseum Lead guitar amp head (300 watt behemoth with a spring reverb!) into a house brand 2x15" cabinet. Couldn't tell you what speakers were in it, but it was heavy and sounded pretty dang good (at least how I remember it). I won't get into how I lost that.
My next gig worthy rig was my current, which I got in the early 2000s. Peavey FireBass 700 head with Avatar 2x10 and 1x15 cabinets. Sounds great to my ears and works well enough for my needs.

Nope and come to think of it I haven't had a matched head/cab since my first rig of and Ampeg b2r and svt4x10. Currently running a Trace Elliot ELF and Mesa Boogie road ready 1x15
I have a Markbass combo with matching speaker. My other rig is a Carlsbro head with a Trace Elliot Commando that had been cut down, before I bought it, to speaker only.
Mine have always matched. For more than a decade I played an old Carvin PB500 setup with two Carvin cabs. In 2015 I bought a Carvin BX500 and a BRX15.3 cab which I've been using ever since.
Yes and no. I’m currently using a Hartke LX8500 and an EBS Reidmar 750 through Hartke cabs, an Hl410 and an HD210.
I can definitely relate.
With the exception of either a GK800rb on a Hartke stack, or a Mesa Bass 400 on an Ampeg. Those always look right at home to me!
There are some I’ll say “ wild” rigs pictured here.
My only comment since I believe
“to each their own” or……
I believe ( again ) that the manufacturer builds / engineers the amp / cab to compliment each other to achieve “their” signature tone. So to answer some of the posters here…. I think that’s why you’d buy the same brand.
Do you players that “mix”, do you try all of these pieces out before you buy or go by posts here, name brand , etc……. Do you buy, try, return, until …..?
I have / do at times “mix” amp and cab. I will say that when I bought, I got the same brand on both pieces as I was looking for
“that tone”. For me it’s GK & Ampeg. Have Fun !

I use the cabs that I do (Hartke HL410, Hartke HD210) because they are light (43lbs for the 4x10) and they still have amazing sound. For me whatever head I buy needs to be able to work with the cabs I already have, and for the most part they have done so really well. I will say that the LX8500 has better tone in that setup than my EBS. That said I love the concept of trying different amps and cabs together. An 800rb sitting on top of an Ampeg 8x10 is almost a religious experience!

I as well use my GK and Ampeg 8x10 or 4x10. I do this the most I’ll say as I’m still a “rack user” and my wireless, tuner, Tech 21 RPM ( or RBI in the past ) are all in “one place”. Just became easier to use the GK instead of bringing the CL and the rack. I like the sound of both so…….
On the occasion I use both 8x10’s ( not often enough, ha ) the CL at 2 ohm’s is better / again easier than two GK’s, one for each cab.
I’ll say it’s a blast to stand in front of two 8x10’s at volume !
