My cabs are a pair of homemade 210 cabs.Each one is loaded with WGSBG10Cs.They are 16 ohm 250 watt with an xmax of about 5.5 95db sensitivity,cast frame with large magnets with bumped back plates.Each cab is wired in paralell giving it an 8 ohm with 500 watt power handling and ported to be 3db down at 42hz.Stacked on top each other the stack can handle a 1000 watts with sensitivity of 101db.My Mesa 400+ pushes them with power to spare.

I've owned lots of gear over the past 50 years, and have never had a matching amp/cab rig, ever. 
the past few years I've been using a peavey tour 700 with a peavey 2-12 slant face cabinet containing scorpions. but I have other amps I mix and match with other cabinets. Ampeg, Acoustic, Fender, GK backline, Kustom and Carvin heads, into Cerwin Vega, JBL, Electrovoice SRO, Altec and Peavey speakers of all sizes. eventually I'll find the combination that is perfect. have fun finding yours.
I'm completely OCD about matching heads and cabs. And anything else for that matter. But, once I tried the old school ceramic Markbass black cabs with the Hartke LH1000 head I had to put the nice looking Hartke speakers aside and go with the mismatch.

Since 1963. I grew up in the Burgh. Moved out when the mills shut down in the mid 70’s.
Both...some brands only make heads or only cabs. So guess what happens then 
Some brands make both but for some karmic reason, the only time I've matched a cab to the amp is when the amp was a combo and I bought a extension cab of the same brand.

I’m still playing with a band in Pittsburgh I’ve working with since 1970. Believe it or not, I commute from Illinois just east of St.Louis. We did about 5 gigs this year, mostly up the Allegheny River. We have one on the books coming up this coming February and look to book another 10 or so next year.
As it’s n 11 member band we don’t gig a lot as venues are few and far between, gigs that pay $2,000 or more are scarcer still. So we record (which we can do remotely), and publish. We released two LPs in the last 18 months, and have another ready to release, but there was a problem with the art work, so it’s on hold for the time being.

I hear you about the weight, we're not spring chic anymore, and most of us don't have roadies to do our load in/outs
I went to a Phil Jones Cab 47 , which at 35+- lbs is lighter than my Hartke 7000...
I have a new 6 lb Hartke TX 600 on the way to drive the PJB...
The, Cab 47 (4x7) is rated 300 w @ 8 ohms, and is 2x+ the weight of their series of 2 speaker cabs/combos...
So, this new technology of being able to move air, at lower weights, is a blessing for us older farts... Or past gasses( pun intended)!

So, this pic was taken on my kitchen counter to show the size of this Cab 47,
On top is my old and heavy Hartke 7000, next to it a relatively new, Sire M5 (beautiful swamp ash grain) to contrast the size... (We do this in archaeology with a trowel or board w inch demarcations on it to contrast the size of the artifact to the known object)
As I said above,v this fan net weighs less than the 7000, and is half the weight of my 410 xl and 20 lbs lighter than my 115xl cabs!!
So, I'm excited to get this plugged in and hear it
also had to order a Speakon end cable to plug in... So I'm really jonesin' to play this s thing, and hear that Sire and see if Marcus Miller's thumb print is really there...
The EQ is set for my 4003, done by a sound man, who was running the mix... mentioning this because, I know bassists notice these things, and there would be comments about the settings... So if you have played a Ric, you probably understand!

While I do have enough cabs/amps to match them if I wanted, I tend to just pair up what I think sounds the best for the current gig, and sometimes they match. For example, my GK 1001RBII sounds fantastic on top of the GK NEO 412, yet it sounds kinda lacking (IMHO) when it's parked on top of my old Ampeg 410HLF, whereas my Genzler Magellan 800 sounds excellent on every cab I've tried...except a back lined Ampeg 810....I just couldn't get it to play nice in the time available.
