It’s an Aria reissue but the picture is Cliff with an Alembic. Strange choice picture.
Was his Aria an SB1000?
What Aria needs to sell some basses off the coat-tail of some dead musician, it's all about money, that's all it ever is now!!!!
There will always be lots of early Metallic/Cliff Burton fans. Aria always produces these in small numbers to prime that fan base, and they're hardly alone in the music and/or record business in doung this.
Personally, I would prefer to let artists rest in peace, but to be brutally honest, you make more money on deceased ones.
I had a chance to buy a NIB SB1000 that hung in a store unsold in the early 90's for $400, and kick myself annually I didn't.
I would like to one day have one of the two pickup SB's wired up with Alembic pickups and filters like Rudy used with Whitesnake back in the day . . .

One of them was a SB1000. The other was a SB Black and Gold I.
