Aria Pro II SB 1000

Hello there I am wondering if any of you have had or own an sb 1000. I would like to know how this bass sounds. On harmony central most people describe the sound as piano like. Does this bass have bottom or is it mostly mid range to trebly. I would like a real honest answer and yes i know Cliff Burton had one.

I've had an SB-1000 since 1985, when I bought it new. It's definitely very mid-focused. You'll have to dial in the lows on your amp to compensate. I've compared mine to any other Jazz or Precisions, and you do notice the lack of deep lows.

However, if this is the only bass you're going to use at a given time, you can easily dial up the lows on your amp's EQ and the tone will be really nice.

I have an SB1000 fretless... sounds very nice.

not to stir away from the 1000 but

i have an aria pro II avante series. its an active 5 string and it just sounds beautiful.
