Thanks for that Smokey.
I agree, setting it flat defeats the purpose of having one. So it's similar to the VT-bass then, in that there are plenty of tone options but all have a kind of signature baked in sound.
I really want the Noble, but the cost has had me looking at options.

Yeah, I mean you would still get the benefit of tube compression/growl if you ran the gain up high, and if it’s the DI version then you have a really clean high end DI, there’s also the HPF so all of that is great but you could accomplish those things with a cheaper tube DI box without the tone stack and a broughton HPF and save yourself a couple hundred bucks. For me, I use the Oracle specifically for getting a lot of tone out of it, very different sound than my stingray straight into an amp.

Ah noted! I’ll happily take a number I guess, why not. Im pretty active in a couple other clubs for gear I love but have never taken a number in those. Revsound club and Stingray5 club

Thanks! To celebrate, heres my rig, the photo in post #2 in the thread was a backline. A big part of why I love the Oracle is cause I am so often using a dubious backline and it’s so much easier to just run the Oracle into a backlined effects loop rather than try and find my sound in an unfamiliar amp…usually a tone hammer lol.

I've done that, but lately I've been going into the front end with the Mesa's gain set low.

The Noble was on my list, but the Oracle was enough cheaper that I could upgrade from my former Shift Line Olympic to it without too much extra dough outlay. I could do the same with the Oracle into the Noble now, but I have no desire for anything else in a DI or preamp. It's perfect save for not having a headphone jack.

Thanks mate. Playing direct means all my tone comes from the stuff pictured, and I've finally gotten to the point in my life where I can buy what I want to a large extent.

That would totally fit on a Nano+. I've always had my Oracle on Pedaltrain boards and in the bags that come with them, and while I'm not throwing things around, I'm also not babying anything. It's always been fine.

The P is new to me last week, and I'm loving it so far. A P with TI flats into an Oracle is some kind of old school magic. Of course my Jazz with TI flats into the Oracle is also magic. The point is a quality instrument into the Oracle is going to yield great results.

With the VT a variety of tones can be achieved with it, but no matter what the setting is, it still has a baked in Ampeg quality to it.
I'm hoping the Arkham isn't like that, but I think I heard someone hint at it.

I don’t really hear a baked in tone. Check out the tutorial from the Arkham website:

Arkham Sound - James Tonestack

It’s pretty simple and effective, once you understand what’s going on with the Range control. And if you want flat, it goes flat.

I can't say enough good things about Micah's creations, especially my custom Arkham Shadow preamp (pardon the mess of cables):

It's a two channel bass preamp with a Hiwatt DR103 preamp on one side and the Zephyr preamp on the other. I feed a whole mess of effects through the DR103 side then into a Quilter Pro Block 200 and my clean-ish sound through the Zephyr into a Quilter Bass Block 800. This rig is a monster.

Anyone else want to talk about their Arkham gear?

Thank you! Honestly, a JCM pre for dirt and a Zephyr/Oracle type for clean would be so sweet! :woot:

I use a FEARLESS F112/F212 rig with the DR103 side->Quilter Pro 200->F112 and the Zephyr side->Quilter Bass 800->F212. That rig dooms...and shakes my house to the foundation.

It looks like you are familiar with the Zephyr/FEARLESS 212 combination. Your rig is killer. :thumbsup:

Agreed, I love my stingray into the Oracle! I can imagine a P with flats on it would be heavenly! But yes, I think it would definitely fit on a nano+ but like I said, metro 16 comes with a hard case lol. I also am powering it with a walrus audio Aetos which I’m not sure would fit underneath. Leaves room for growth too if I want to mount the Aetos underneath and put it on some taller feet. Might also put a carvin Mach 100 or ehx 44 magnum on the board so I can bring just the board for small gigs/ upright stuff etc. my revsound cab is CRAZY efficient so 50 watts is plenty for it most of the time.
