Artisan Bass Works

At first glance, they look incredibly wrong. But after studying it, there is something kind of ingenious going on here. Like playing a j-bass with the neck angled upward. If you can get past the unusual looks of it, it might be kind of cool to play.

It's like they just rotated the whole body downward on a standard Jazz, can't see how that is more ergonomic than the original design, and it looks odd.
Well, if the tilted Jazz looks weird, they do have other body shapes, but I don't find any of them appealing. I agree, though, they could have made their point with a more original (though not bizarre) shape.

I played one of these at NAMM and it was the most comfortable bass I've ever played. Sitting down, I had not back strain, no wrist strain, and the neck sat perfectly up perfectly. These things are very, very well designed. I am going to put in an order hopefully this year. Plus these guys are awesome dudes! You have to try one. I thought they looked weird too, but man they sound and feel great!
