ASB140/Casady-1 hard case for both?

http://www.talkbass.com/forum/f8/case-gibson-eb-2-a-577338/#post10796768

Pretty sure it won't work. I tried, maybe I got a tight-fitting EJC case but it was not quite long enough and I had to return it. The body might have fit nicely but the headstock wouldn't have gone in without considerable violence.

This, after another ASB-140 owner told me it would work. Of course, he had the original case so I shouldn't have listened to him.

I also managed to speak on the phone to someone at Ibanez and they said they have no more in inventory, and to their knowledge none of their distributors do either, and that there was nothing they could do to help. Pretty lame if you ask me, that they would apparently make so many more guitars than cases. I haven't tried TKL yet (pretty sure they were contracted to make the originals), but if that fails it might have to be a custom from G&G.

I am almost at the point of just buying another one if it has the case and either reselling it or doing a fretless conversion on it. Right now mine travels in an acoustic guitar gig bag with another cloth bag over the headstock. Needless to say, sadly I don't like to take it out of the house very often because of this.
