I REALLY want to go back to using an Ashdown amp but I'm so nervous about getting one that will keep working. Right now I have an amp that sounds really good, always works, and is from a company who has an amazing record of reliability. I still miss the Ashdown immensely but I can't help but to feel squeemish about owning one again.
I understand that view too. All brands of amps can have problems, and Ashdown experiences presented on talkbass are all anecdotal. We'd need a bunch of serious data to understand exactly how Ashdown stacks up against other brands' reliability. But there is so much anecdotal evidence, it's enough to make you worry a bit. And when something does happen to your amp, it's pretty tempting to blame it on a "well known" reliability problem.
I was just re-reading a post of mine from a while back:

Doh.
