Is anyone else having a problem getting a clean sound out of an Ashdown amp ? I get like a mild fuzz box sound at the amp's cleanest settings .

Ashdown amps can be clean like any other amp. It seems to me like you have a problem with your amp or somewhere else in the chain. Might want to check your cables or battery (active bass) or have your amp checked. Could possibly be only a preamp tube also.
Effects Loop? If yes: link Send and Return with a short signal cable and see if it helps.
Witch model?
My ABM 500 had this problem.
Cleaning the effects send / return jacks fixed it right up.

AAA 15 . I contacted Ashdown about it and they said it was a bad speaker . They sent me a new 15" speaker . It wasn't the speaker . It would have been way to expensive for me to ship it back to them for repair . So I now have a good Ashdown 1x15 cab and a new speaker to replace the blown one in one of my other cabs . I use an old Peavey head with the extra cabs . I decided to have my old Sunn head repaired instead of dealing with the Ashdown head . I'll turn it into a win win for me .
I think that worked . I can't hear the fuzz . I'll try it at our next gig and see what it does with more volume and in the mix . Thanx . I never would have thought of the loop trick .
I just had my ABM 400 head repaired after it developed a staticy crackling sound and lack of punch. My repair guy traced it to a bad connection between the preamp and poweramp and fixed it right away. Really blew me away to plug it back in to discover it was twice as loud, punchier and clearer than it had ever been before. Definitely get it checked out if the send/return trick doesn’t pan out.
Some amps have a Preamp out // Power Amp in pair of sockets. These act in much the same way to an Effects Loop. Corrosion or dirt can contaminate the normalizing switches attached to the jacks and cause the amp to sound scratchy and noisy. The cure is cleaning the contacts of these switches. Spraying contact cleaner into the jacks is not how to clean them. That can cause more problems than it cures. The ONLY cleaner to use is Deoxit D5 and then only a tiny amount.
