Ashdown comp pedal?

Any of the compressor gurus used this and able to compare it to anything?

I looked through old threads but I didn't see anything. I know there was apparently some early distortion issue that they resolved, but after that not much written about them. That leads me to think it's not so great....

I do like the idea of separately compressing highs and lows, but I've never tried it in practice, so it's all in my imagination at the moment.

I've got some $$ to blow, but I don't know if my concscience will let me get one of the pricier ones (Demeter, etc.)

Funny, I searched on "Ashdown compressor" and got 74 threads, and a lot of them had something useful to say, and a couple of the more recent ones review it and discuss the dual-band function.

OTOH, the pedal has not been popular, for a variety of reasons, so that's why there are not more reviews and comparisons. I suspect we'll be seeing more commentary soon since Ashdown lowered the prices, and since MF recently had a big blowout sale on them.

You can read about a couple of other dual-band comps (Rane and Trace) in my reviews thread, but I haven't tried the Ashdown yet. I'm waiting until I can pick one up really cheap. :)
