Depends...The CTM300 does not have a multi-tap power transformer (PT) like some of the other Ashdown heads. Basically if you buy a CTM300 and take it to a country that uses a different line voltage you have to replace the the PT. Pretty sure the rest of the amp is the same regardless of market.

I'm considering importing a JJ500 head into the UK from Europe and I'm struggling to find voltage info on it. I'm pretty sure all those sold in Europe came rated at 230 volts but I'm not sure. Thanks for the info on the CT300 as I was considering one as an alternative.

Pretty sure the UK and Continental European amps are the same as the voltage difference is only 10V.

I suggest you email Ashdown technical support to be sure. They are usually pretty good about answering questions.

I Googled a bit and found images of recent Ashdown amps setup for 230V, but not 220V or 240V. Setting the amps up at 230V makes sense, since actual voltages in the EU zone run from approximately 220-240. Basically 230 +/- 5%

Please let us know what Ashdown says .

That does make sense, what models did you see with the 230v setup??

The EU photos I have found for the CTM300, LB550, Mark King 500 showed 230V. The website shows specs for the CTM300 at 115-240V.

I just found RM500 and RM800 photos with 240V indicated. I thought UK is now officially 230V although the lines still run 240V.


I am sure Ashdown will clear it up for you. The last couple of times I contacted them, they got back to me in one or two business days.

This is the only picture of the rear of the JJ500 I could find and it claims 230V. Apparently the one in the photo was supplied to the UK.

Out of curiosity I just had a look at my fender rumble 100 combo and it claims to be 220-240V, so I'm assuming the UK ones are identical to the European ones in this case.
