I really liked how it sounded.... But for the price I would need it to be capable of alot more then it is.
I'm from the UK, Ashdown have never been a boutique or prestige brand here (can't speak for elsewhere) , and I'm not knocking them for it. They have fantastic customer service and I've owned and enjoyed a few of their amps. Whilst I would hazard to say "cheap and cheerful", they are the sort of thing you would expect to play through at the Lamb & Flag on a Thursday night as the house backline. Solid, hard-working, no frills.
They've done a few ranges of pedals and I feel have largely kept their pricing in line with what I would expect from them.... But for some reason this and the Geezer sig just seem way overpriced. I felt the same when they released the Stuart Zender Funk Face. If it was £150 I might be tempted (but I am a fan of big pedals).
The Funk Face was such a disappointment. When I got mine, one of the sides' LEDs was stuck on all the time, and the filter side was not only nonadjustable in frequency (unlike a bassballs with the trims, which it was the same type of curcuit as), but was set at a range that could barely even be heard with bass. And when I brought these two items up to Ashdown, their reply was not a whole lot more helpful than a simple "pound sand, buddy".
