Ashdown LoMenzo Hyper Drive with active bass...

I have a Ashdown LoMenzo Hyper Drive pedal, and when I use it with a passive bass, it sounds amazing. This includes that when I turn the drive knob all the way down, there is no drive...
But when I plug in my active bass, there is always a ugly fuzz, even when I turn the drive knob all the way down..

Anybody who knows why, or if I can do anything about it?

(I have tried to turn down the gain knob, both on the bass and the pedal, but then there aren't any drive at all)

You're probably distorting the amp. Is there a clip light on your amplifier? 9V bass + 9V pedal = recipe for disaster, if not wired correctly. How are you running your signal chain?

I've never had this problem at all Not that I have a solution for it

I've not had this problem, & I use all active basses, as does the bass player in the band my band shares a practice space with, he's not had any problems. It might just be that you got a bad one.

There is no clip light on my amp :-( But am I distorting the amp when I turn down both the output from the bass, and the gain on the pedal? The wierd thing is that the drive knob does not seem to work when I use the active bass...

My pedal chain: Bass-pedal-amp.. I have tried the FX lopp at the amp, but this does not work either..

Try turning down the output & boosting the input, that might help.

Forgetting the pedal for a moment, is your active waaay louder than your passive bass when just plugged into the amp (using same input socket and settings)? If so your bass might be overloading the pedal, try backing off the volume on your bass. You might even be able to back it off with an internal control if your bass preamp has one.

I have an active Peavey Millenium and a Hyperdrive, and have no problems.
Never tried the pedal with a passive bass, although I know my bass is WAAAAAY louder than the passive ones at my practice space on the same amp settings.
I'd say just turn down on your bass and/or turn down the mix dial on the pedal.
On second thoughts, when you play normally through the Lomenzo, how high is the input indicator on the pedal? If your into the red when your playing then that could be your problem. You haven't mentioned trying that, give it a go. The higher I have the input, the more it clips, so try moving it down
