Hi guys,

just wondering if this head is good for fast punchy slap? I've heard its only really good for an overdriven vintage sound.

I've only played through it once and agree that it's more for a vintage tone, a bit muddy for my tastes. For slap I'd recommend GK hands down: very powerful, very punchy and very fast response. Not sure what your price range is but on MusiciansFriend the Backline 600 is the same price as the MAG300H, and the 400RB is $200 more (definitely worth the price difference IMO).

i can only strech to £200 so the GK artist series is too expensive for me, and i wouldnt buy the backline series.
