Assistance Required!

Hey - :hiding: I am going to ask something that I am sure has been asked before but will ask it again... :smug:

I am looking into replacing the existing p/ups on one of my basses and am not too sure on what brand to go with; it will either be between EMG or Seymour Duncan.

The bass is a 5 string and currently has J p/ups in it. P/up cavity measures 9.5cms. Looking for something with even lows & highs and slightly raised mids. I play Metal and this bass will be mostly used for Tool & Opeth covers.

Any assistance/**** giving will be greatly appreciated!

Cheers!

I should also point out that I am located in Melbourne, Australia so the more 'boutique' brands are out of the question.

I will more then likely buy the selected p/ups from the USA but I know a lot of music stores do not send EMG's to Australia - something do with there licensing I think.

Ah well, that's a Wal bass....

This is close though (until the Wal clone is out). ;)

Close indeed, but still has something in the mids not quite like a Wal.
Highs are nice there. Maybe with a filter preamp...

when are you going to have that wal clone ready? what would be the price and lead time?
