Aston "Family Man" Barrett

I was at a Wailers concert yesterday. They reformed with Aston on bass and alot of great musicians amongst his sun Aston jr. on drums.

Great concert and i was amazed that they came to my obscure town in Denmark.

After the show i waited out back with a couple of my reggae jam band mates. Finally Aston appeared and was really nice and friendly. He signed my flatwound passive jazz bass which just blew my mind. We even passed him a litte ganja and he was delighted.

I just wanted to share my experience with the board.

He carries a killer groove... Glad you got to meet him. We opened for the Wailers once, and he was totally gracious. And I was totally starstruck and trying not to act it

I think its a pity he does not get the recognition as a composer he deserves. He lost some lawsuits against island records. He didnt receive royalties for many of his basslines i guess.

I saw the wailers a couple of years ago at the hardrock cafe. Great band. Very tight sounding.
