Wasn't sure where to post this but... At 28 years old, you sometimes get some looks when playing with two 16 year old musical beasts. Recently we played a festival headlining the second stage for our guitar sponsor (Harper Guitars). Here's a recording of one of the songs. Led Zeppelin's "Immigrant Song".

This kid is one of the most professional musicians I know. He's also insanely talented. Won the shredder contest last year at Louder than Life music contest.

Give it a listen and tell me what you think!



PS: Yes, I know I don't do the full scale run in the chorus. It sounds too busy doing it in my opinion so I usually leave it out.

It reminds me of an old cover band. We were all in our 30s, but we had a 16 year old guitarist who shredded, and was super talented. He couldn't play certain bar gigs, but one of our regular gigs had an arcade room next to the stage. He'd set up just inside the door and poke his head out of the room, and he had his dad show up to the gigs. Great kid, great player the dad was cool, too.

Lol nice. You ought to check out him doing Over My Head or We Were Born To Be Loved by Kings X.

I feel ya Nicol.He makes me go "at sixteen I wasn't a quarter good as you" everytime I play with them. Drummer is 16 as well. They've played out in bars since they were ten and he's been astounding even since then. It's ridiculous what this new generation of kids is already displaying talent wise.

He sounds very good.
Talent, I guess, is objective.
I play with a guy who does guitar, sings, keys in our band - equally good at all of them.
He can also drum, holds his own on bass, marimba, flute and clarinet.

He has the ability to hear a song once, and then just play it.
To me, that's talented.

That's how this kid is. He's absolutely insane on bass as well. Can play pretty much anything you put in front of him. Keys, drums, bass, incredible singer, great guitar player. He's got a thirst for music.

I believe he started on Keys at 3, and guitar I believe at 8. Bass he just picked up a year or two ago and can already play Earth, Wind, & Fire and a few difficult Primus songs.
