At GC, should i buy it?!

So on a random trip to GC for a friend I see this schecter stiletto studio 5 in a bright orange.
It is marked as an elite and going for $300

Pros:
I love the feel and the emg hz's it has.

Cons:
Dead strings so I can't hear to full potential
But more importantly on the center monorail bridge the saddle is kinda out of the sort of out of the bridge, as if the previous owner had screwed it up too high, but only on one side of the saddle. (and this makes to center string sit too high)
Not sure if it is an easy fix or not.
And I can't upload pictures cuz my phone is being dumb.

Opinions will be very welcome!

if it has the monorail type bridge and the bright orange finish is a gloss, then it is an elite. the elites prior to '09 had that gloss orange finish as well as a very dark red finish. the saddle height is adjustable, but be aware that it is a locking design, so you will have to loosen the set-screw before you adjust the string height.

Oh, I though elites were bolt on, as this one is neck thru.
But that is a good idea! Thanks for the tips

the customs, extremes and deluxes were bolt-ons. the elite and studios were neck-thru.

no, i saw your location and searched the GC used site. it is in fact an older elite model and in the picture i can see the saddle sitting awkward. it's an easy fix, just do what bluetalon and tangentmusic said.

I have a Stiletto Elite 5 that I paid $600 for new, years ago, and it's an excellent bass for the money, better than most basses I've played at twice the price. It came with Elixir strings, which I ultimately replaced with D'Addario round-wounds. Don't sweat GC on the strings, but, if it's not too late, extort a set-up out of their tech to correct for whatever the previous owner got wrong (I'm guessing over-adjusted the bridge, rather than tweak the neck relief, but I can't be sure, of course).

Wasn't able to talk them into a free setup, but $10 for that and new strings sounds good to me.
