Every transaction is individual. When someone adds something to indicate they are firm on the price or they have their head in the clouds or are unwilling to even talk....I don't bother them unless I'm willing to pay their price.

I also don't buy and sell very often at all. However, every "lowball" offer I've ever made has been accepted.

I don't think it's rude (I'm in there too man) I think it's funny. And just like you, I don't buy and sell a lot but I have had every single "low ball" offer accepted.

I thought it was funny too. If I put a bid on something I'm not trying to wring every dollar out. It's not that important to me. If the seller is offended, I can't help that. As we see in these threads, the lowball threshold is all over the place and if someone takes it personally, that's their problem. I'll just look for the item somewhere else.

I'm so with you on this. Offer what you wanna pay, if they don't like it, oh well.

I think a few of them are getting a little annoyed because they think the stuff they bought was actually worth the price they paid. Could be wrong but I have seen many people in real life get heated when worth is discussed.

Sorry if I offended, I was trying to inject a bit of humour into the topic. If your bids were accepted they probably weren’t out of line. I’m talking “what-kind-of-universe-are-you-from!” offers. Like the guy who wanted to trade his G&L Tribute for my German made Warwick Infinity. I’m sure he was well aware of the huge disparity in pricing. It was like he was insulting my intelligence.

But there are other buyers. Sellers only need find one buyer for 99% of the items listed on TB. Some people hate negotiating.

Yeah, when there is a sob story, true or not, I tend to not buy. Even if the price is crazy low, then I feel like I'm taking advantage of their situation.
