Double Bass ATM 350 Mic

Thanks for the input, Steve. I just checked the cable and I don't think that's the culprit. What I think is happening is the vibrations are passing through the gooseneck to the foam which is in turn vibrating against the mic cartridge. I took the mic out of the foam and let it dangle while the gooseneck was mounted to the tailpiece (I've been keeping the cable in the rubber clips -- I did try removing it, no change) and while dangling this noise didn't happen. I picked this thing up secondhand so maybe the problem is due to a degradation of the foam through age.

I checked in with AudioTechnica support before buying the mic about whether the 350 capsule is compatible with the newer system's mounts and apparently they are, so hopefully I'll be able to grab the longer gooseneck soon and that will solve it.

Cool mounting ideas too, Steve. Clipping to the adjuster reduces the problem a bit, so maybe I'll stick with that for now.
That is exactly what I was about to say. Same thing happened to my ATM 35. I just replaced the foam.
