Anything you want..... I love the sound of the Ampeg 810 and you can't get that sound without one, that is why there still around,you just have to deal with moving it around.. That being said I have used a micro
GK mb200 on mine and it sounds good and I also have a Carvin B 2000 I used too., so to both extremes
the cab sounds great.
So try any head you wan't....

Just got my Ampeg 810. Sounds great with my SVT-AV, and it also sounds great with my red knob 100w Fender Dual Showman when I use it for lower wattage bass amp duty.

Ashdown ABM 900 most of the time, occasionally I use by Ashdown EB180 combo head through it. Both sound sweet through my ABM 810 and ABM 610.

Saving for a CTM 300 tube head to act as crown jewel on the 810 though!

LMII (mine)
RBI > Crown XLS2000 (mine but overkill seems like)

SVT-CL (backline supplied - loved it)
Hartke 3500 (backline supplied - meh)
SVT3Pro (borrowed once - sounded good)

Anything seems to work. LMII sounds great and plenty loud for me. I'd like to try a GK MB Fusion sometime.

A Streamliner 900 works pretty well. Looks silly but works well.

I use my 700RBII or MB500. Both work well with the Neo 810. In the past I ran a QSC PLX3002/RBI setup into a Peavey 810 and it sounded pretty good too. Try whatever you can get your hands on and see how it sounds. I agree you probably don't need as much power as you think you do.

I have a '76 Ampeg 810, I have used its matching SVT head, an older GK400RB, and a Genz Benz NeoPak 3.5.

They all sound killer through it.

SVT 4 Pro. I don't run it through an 810 single cab, rather two 410HE Classics. Sounds killer, warm and round.
