I run my 8 10e with either an SVT classic (300 watts) or an old Peavey Mark 6 ss head (around 250 watts) depending on the stability of the electrical system at the venue. Absolutely no problem being heard with either one.

Attention 810 Owners! What amp do YOU use?

I've run two different 810 configurations recently. One was a back line provided at a local bike rally, an Ampeg 810 Heritage with an Aguilar DB750 sitting on top of it. VERY grindy, but also VERY heavy. The headliner had all the 1001RBs sewn up, but to be honest, that DB750 was able to seriously tear it up.
The other is the rig I have at home, an Acoustic B810, which is pushed by my GK BL600, which is fed by my Zoom B9.1ut, and assisted by a BBE 362. That top also pushes my small rig when I need it, which is an Acme LowB2.

I'll use either a Fender 300 pro or a Genz Shuttle 9.0 on the rare occasion I have to (get to) use my 8x10.
I have a sans amp RBI and use a swr 750x as a power amp. Amp is rated 750w @ 4 ohms, 450@ 8, and 850 at 2.6 ohms. 2.6 ohms means I can run ampeg 810e (4ohm) and ampeg 410he (8ohm) together if i want for 850 which is pretty much only needed on big outdoor stages (once or twice a year for me). For most gigs i find just using the 410he loud enough for me.
Were talking a lot of variables with this topic though. I have a QSC power amp that's supposed to be like 1600w @ 4 ohms and it's not as loud as using the swr power amp through the same cabs. A 300w tube amp is just as loud as a thousand watt solid state amp in most cases. I won't even get into class d amps as i think its a bit silly to worry about getting a really light weight amp when your moving around a hundred pound+ fridge.
