One of my favorite bassists is Garrett Tierney of Brand New. His tone is so big, punchy yet deep, and I wanted to have a similar sound, but I'm having trouble identifying the effects he's using. I've been wondering what I'm missing, besides the fender p bass and ampeg svt cl with the svt 810e. I found this photo, but can't identify all the pedals. I can tell there's a bass big muff pi, and a boss tuner, but can anyone tell what else there is? Thanks!

I see both a programmable sansamp BDDI, and also a normal BDDI right next to it. The grey pedal is an MXR M117R flanger. The brownish-red pedal next to the flanger is a Digitech pedal, and judging by the color, it's probably the Bass Squeeze compressor. And then to the left is an EHX Bass Muff and a Boss TU-2 tuner. All the way to the top right is some sort of bypass looper or ABY switcher.

Let’s bring this back. I’ve been a huge fan of brand new since 2003. I’ve always been huge into Garrett’s sound I use it in my own stand point since I started playing in 2003. First and by far the most important part is Garrett used a made in Japan fender p bass. You can tell because of the head stock this was a staple for his bass playing till the end. This photo is a devil and god era board you can tell because he used a mxr bass flanger which he used as a chorus sound. You can tell in the song welcome to Bangkok this was the only time he used this on the record. Later in the daisy era he got a dod fx72 and used that till the end of the band. Notable songs he used the fx72 were gasoline and lit me up. As of the sans amp he had three settings one big thick sound most pop punk player use this type of sound a normal sound to make his amp sparkle a bit more and a driven sound you can really hear that sound in vices and bought a bride. Garrett would change out drive pedals like underwear he’s used a gt2 bass big muff a mxr bass distortion di. A sans amp a digitech bass drive and a bassmaster. He probably used loads more as time went by. As of amps I’ve seen them live through out the years first being a svt 4 than a svt and than fender gave him a super bassman which he used for a very long time.
