Drilling for the switch makes it a bit of a commitment.
Thanks again,

Marshall, that's more or less what I'm having put into my new 7, except I'm not even going that far. Mine will be :smperry said:David, emjazz or anyone else that's played with the Audere:
Do you think that a setup with just the Z switch, blend and two tone controls (one for each pickup) would give a good amount of variety (for a bass with two dual coils and pickup switching, let say)? I might go for the active pre, but the simpler setup is appealing.
Thanks,
Marshall

Z-Mode, preamp, active/passive mode for two pick-ups (Audere 3ZB-2-AP)
Master Volume, Volume, Volume (3 pots)
Z-Mode with no EQ circuitry
It allows me to totally segregate my bridge & neck pups, and gives me a much greater degree of control when blending the two. I don't need to guess how far I may or may not have panned on the blend.DEVILMAN said:@pointbass,
How come you prefer 3 volume pots over a master & blend arrangement?
~S~
I don't know, haven't gotten it yet and even if I did I wouldn't be able to give you a qualified answer. I use no effects at all except for a Boomerang .....DEVILMAN said:On another note, how does the Audere work with FX(delay, distortion, ???)? Is it a mild active boost(like an F-bass pre) or a strong signal? Is the master level of the active output circuit adjustable like a Bart(internal trim pot)?
~S~
yup, it's fx friendly. There are trim pots to adjust the gain for low z mode, apart from that I don't believe it's any gain in other Z mode and eq flat.DEVILMAN said:emazz, VERY cool! So, in other words, it's definetly an "FX friendly" pre. Just what I'm looking for, especially with the added benefits it has...
thanks,
~S~
PS: I might order 2!
you can adjust the capacitance on the preamp, personally I didn't use High Z mode that much - found myself using Mid and Lo more.KayCee said:David, quick question. I detect a little bit of buzzing with the High Z setting...do you think it's enough to be problematic on a live gig or in a recorded mix?
Thanks.
