I just installed an Audere Classic Jazz Preamp in my Fender Jazz. It's a great upgrade and took me all of a half hour to install. I have not been able to see much on these so, I figured I'd post this info here in case anyone is interested. I've also included a picture for reference. What I've found is that even at the neutral settings (detentes engaged) the high end has a lot more pop when you slap/pop a string. Mids are strong and there is not loss of low presence nor is the low muddy in any way. I was playing it through my vintage Ampege Classic 4x10 with a Crown power amp and Ampeg SVT-IIp preamp. I've also played it through my Mesa D-800 and Mesa Diesel 2x10.
My Jazz is a 2015 Geddy Lee body with a 2006 anniversary neck. Duncan quarter pounders and a Leo Quann BA-II bridge.
As I said worth the money for the upgrade!

I had the opportunity to play this bass at rehearsal with the band wide open. I was using an Ampeg SCR-DI into the effects return on an Acoustic Bass head into an Ampeg Classic 4x10 (rehearsal studio equipment). Without sounding like a "fan boy", this preamp impressed me! It really brought the bass to life. This is my #1 bass and it sounded great before the mod but, the preamp really brought a lot out of the bass. Every note I played was clear and articulated well cutting through the mix with no problem. In fact, one of my band mates asked what I was doing different given the difference in tone and quality of sound from the bass. I explained the mod and what the preamp is. He was really blown away and made several comments during the night. I've found I do not need to stray far away from the center position on the preamp, if at all. The frequencies Audere has chosen to center around really seem to be a sweet spot. The only remaining oulier is battery life. I don't yet know if this thing will chew through batteries. My suspicion is no since it replaces the jazz bass harness and requires you to unscrew the plate to change the battery. If it turns out to be a problem, I'll install an external battery case. ...this thing is amazing, it's a keeper!
