Audio Card Recommend

Can you guys recommend a sound card.I'll use with Sansamp bass driver(xlr out)I'm thinking M Auido Fast Track how is it?

If 2 tracks at once is what you want, the Mackie BlackJack $199.
Its a better unit but no software comes with it. Better specs then the M Audio stuff in the same price range.

I own the M-audio FT and I can't wait to get enough money to change it for something better. The pre amps are very noisy and and theirgain stage is very weak, you have to crank the gain in order to get a decent recording level, but by then you have a lot of noise in the signal. I absolutely hate the fact that you can't bypass the pre.

I have a Presonus Firebox -- it's compact, 2 mic/instrument inputs, 2 line-level inputs MIDI and SPDIF. It's well-built, the pres are good and clean if not awe-inspiring, and it's never skipped a beat (I bought it second-hand). The Audiobox looks virtually identical in front, doesn't appear to have the line inputs, but does have MIDI. If the price is good, and you don't need more than 2 inputs and a keyboard, say, then I don't think you'll go wrong. However, line-level inputs are very useful -- you can attach another mic/instrument preamp, DI from your bass amplifier, etc. If you have a Firewire jack on your computer and can spend more, the Firestudio mobile looks like a nice unit, and looks like it's what superseded mine.

I got one of the UAD packs - a soundcard/software combination. I don't even see it listed on their site now so I'm not sure how relevant this is. The signal into the computer is very clean and takes processing off of the computer. The software is nothing short of amazing - 1176 and LA2A compressors, Pultec EQ to just mention a few. This was eye opening for me. I didn't realize how many different qualities of EQ and compression there were until I heard them side by side here.
I did find that having only two inputs on the card was limiting and required an additional mixer, but for home recording there are lots of limitations that have to be dealt with.
